Useful details

PNG uses lossless encoding, but converting an already compressed JPEG does not recover detail lost earlier. Photographs often become larger as PNG. The source background stays opaque; this conversion cannot remove a background or create transparency. The shared image engine keeps dimensions and exports real PNG bytes. Metadata and animation are not retained. Output is limited to 16 million pixels and 8,000 pixels per side.
